While the claybord's don't seem to be directed towards watercolor use, I've had fun with them based on exercises in a watercolor book. They're terrific for experimenting with colors, strokes, or composition. They are extremely precise in construction and if washed clean quickly, return to the white ground. While staining watercolors, as one would expect, also stain the claybords, it doesn't preclude their reuse multiples of times. I believe they can be returned to a pure white background through light sanding, but someone should probably read the care instructions.
